Frequently Asked Questions

What will I see on this concert?

In early November, a portion of our chorus and orchestra gathered in the sanctuary at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church to record the choral movements of Messiah, Part I. Later that afternoon in a separate session, our fantastic soloists recorded their movements live with orchestra. These performances will be cut together to create a seamless viewing experience of Messiah, Part I, with a few fun surprises along the way.

How do I access the concert?

If you purchased tickets before December 2, a link to the performance was be emailed to you. If you purchased tickets on or after December 2, your link is printed on your e-ticket.

On December 4th at 7pm, the concert will air for the first time via that YouTube link and will remain available for re-watching for the entire month of December. You can view this performance anywhere you can access the internet including your computer, tablet, mobile, or smart TV.

Note: If you visit the link before December 4th at 7pm, you will not be able to stream the video quite yet!

How did you ensure safety for all performers?

Safety was our top priority for this recording. All singers and unmasked performers were required to have a negative COVID test, and all personnel completed a health check and temperature scan upon entering the building. Choral singers remained masked and distanced at all times.

How can I share this with my friends and family?

If you have friends who would like to view the concert, they can buy a ticket using the link above and they will receive the link to watch as well. Because this video will remain up for the month of December, tickets will continue to be available after the initial premiere.

I am a contributor at the Sponsor level or above and typically attend the Messiah reception. What are you doing this year?

In lieu of our typical Messiah reception, we will be hosting a Zoom conversation with the soloists on Thursday, December 3rd.
We will also be hosting a small, socially distanced watch party at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 4th.

I’m a contributor who typically receives tickets. Do I need to purchase tickets separately for this event?

No—all ticket benefits that would apply to an in-person concert extend to this virtual event as well. You will be emailed a ticket link the week of the performance.
